SONY: ITV on Demand hits PS3

Sony has outlined some further spokes in tis IPTV wheel with the introduction of ITV content on demand on the PlayStation Network.

A host of content agreements have been signed with providers across a number of nations including the Netherlands, Spain, Germany and Finland.

There’s no sign, however, of the rumoured agreement with Channel 4 to bring 4OD to the platform.

The platform holder has also detailed some new social networking functionality for a refreshed version of its PVR peripheral PlayTV. Called PlayTV Chat, it will offer the same core functionality as the last device but with added community features such as Facebook integration and live TV and movie-themed chat with friends.

There’s no sign, however, of the rumoured HD upgrade.
