It seems that Shenmue 3 was just the tip of the iceberg for Sony when it comes to crowdfunding.
The technology giant has introduced its very own Kickstarter-a-like platform, First Flight, designed to bring innovative and unique technology concepts to fruition.
However, unlike services like Kickstarter and Indiegogo, only Sony employees will be able to offer their ideas up for public approval (or potential dismissal).
As well as backing new projects, consumers will also be able to pre-order and purchase devices created by Sony workers.
The HUIS Remote Controller, an all-in-one device, is currently sat at more than half-funded, with 50 days left to run.
Meanwhile, the MESH Smart DIY kit and FES e-ink watchmake up the whole of the pre-order offering for the moment, with the latter priced at 29,700 yen (154).
The FES was originally revealed late last year, with initial reports stating that the wearable tech was the product of a new firm called Fashion Entertainments. It soon turned out that the company was actually another arm of Sony.
First Flight is currently limited to Japanese consumers only.
