SONY: Medieval Moves shows off improved Move functionality

Medieval Moves: Deadmund’s Quest is coming to PS3 and PlayStation Move this autumn.

Created by Zindagi Games, the makers of best-selling Move title Sports Champions, Medieval Moves is a fantasy, action adventure.

Unique motion control functionality allows players to seamlessly transition between throwing projectiles, sword fighting and archery for an intuitive and immersive gameplay experience.

Unlike many of the on-rails motion games that have appeared, multiple pathways and innovative new interactions will be present here.

There is no cumbersome inventory system or weapon selection screen, you do the action and it just works,” said producer Jeremy Ray on the PlayStation Blog.

For example with an enemy in your face, the sword and shield are perfect. Swing your arms to swing the sword and hold the Move button to position your shield. If you see a distant enemy, reach back for an arrow from your quiver for pinpoint accuracy.”

As the skeletal Prince Edmund, you must fight to save his homeland and defeat the evil sorcerer Morgrimm and his minions to restore order to the kingdom.

In addition to the single-player story, Medieval Moves also has competitive and co-op multiplayer, locally or online.

Medieval Move was one of Sony’s demo titles at its E3 press conference yesterday. During the briefing, the publisher revealed that Move sales have hit 8.8 million around the world.

Medieval Moves arrives this autumn on PS3.
