Sony opens pre-orders for new head-mounted 3D display

The US arm of Sony is now taking pre-orders for its upcoming wireless 3D head-mounted display.

Priced at $999, the HMZ-T3W includes two OLED screens and 7.1 surround sound. It has HDMI input for use with consoles, PCs, tablets and smartphones.

This newest version of the device is lighter than its predecessor, includes flexible headbands and has a battery good for three hours.

It’s designed to allow users to easily peek down at the keyboard and mouse when PC gaming. Plus the unit can also charge the battery for connected portable devices.

The UK online Sony Store is down at the moment so it is unknown if the HMZ-T3W is available to order on this side of the pond.
