SONY: PSN hits 465 million downloads

At its E3 opening press conference, Sony has revealed the success of the PSN online store, which allows PS3 users to download new and classic games.

"On PSN we now have 24 million registered users, and 11m in US," revealed SCEA’s Jack Tretton. "So far they have downloaded 475 million pieces of content.

"There are 200 games now available, 90 of which are exclusive, and our Installed base has grown 150 per cent. We will add 50 PlayStation classic this year, including Final Fantasy VII."

Later, Tretton added : "We have always been about free access to online gameplay and a huge audience quickly. That’s exactly what we’re doing."
