Sony reverses DriveClub PS+ upgrade expiry

PlayStation Plus subscribers who pay to upgrade the free PS+ version of DriveClub will be able to access the extra content permanently.

If you have DriveClub PS+ Edition and upgrade, we’ll ensure you keep full game access even if your PS Plus runs out,” the PlayStation Europe Twitter account just confirmed.

Earlier this week the platform holder revealed an offer to allow PS+ users to upgrade from the free version of DriveClub to the full game for 42.99.

However, access would only be granted for as long as they remained subscribed, begging the question why anyone would choose this over buying the vanilla game for around the same price which they could access indefinitely.

However, Sony has been quick to react to criticism and now reversed the policy.

DriveClub will be released for PS4 in the UK on October 10th.
