Sony’s House pays tribute to new SCEE boss

SCEE is in safe hands with Jim Ryan at the helm, says PlayStation’s incoming CEO Andrew House.

In his final interview as SCEE boss, published exclusively in MCVnext week, House paid tribute to the man he has worked alongside for more than two years.

He said:You could not have had a better person to be managing a business at your side. He has a deep knowledge of the business, a deep knowledge of how the corporate culture at SCEI worked and a tremendous open-mindedness and willingness to take on new ideas.

I’ll say without any sentimentality that leaving a business in such great hands is something very rare and to have that degree of confidence in the person taking on the role is great.”

House leaves to take up his new global role at the beginning of September. And he hopes that his knowledge of various global territories, plus his experience in Sony Corporate roles, will prove invaluable in his new position of CEO.

He said: What I hope that I bring to the table is, having been with Sony for over 20 years and spent roughly half of my career on the PlayStation business and half in corporate roles, is an ability to focus on the PlayStation business and manage that globally, while at the same time build some bridges and cooperation with the rest of Sony.”
