Square Enix: FFXIII release yet to be determined

Japanese developer and publisher Square Enix has told MCV that the European release date for Final Fantasy FXIII has yet to be decided.

The comments come after a Forbes interview with Square Enix president Yoichi Wada in which it is claimed that the exec stated that the game would be released in 2009 in Japan but would not see light of day in Europe until the business year from April 2010 or later”.

However, a spokesperson from the European arm of Square Enix has told MCV: The launch dates of FFXIII are still to be determined and will be revealed in due course. Please wait for future announcements.”

Square Enix rocked the world last year when it confirmed at E3 that Final Fantasy XIII would be released on Xbox 360 alongside PS3 in all territories outside of Japan – the first time a numbered FF title has not been a PlayStation exclusive at launch.
