Summer sales madness grips UK

Major retailers Play, Zavvi and HMV have slashed the prices on leading game software and hardware in time for the summer.

HMV has slashed 70 per cent off certain titles, with 360 title Lost on sale for 17.99 and the Wii edition of Speed Racer on offer for 14.99.

Play.com has knocked up to 75 per cent of games, including Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (steel edition) on 360 and PS3 for 17.99 and Ninja Gaiden II for 24.99.

However, the big sale is over at Zavvi, which includes the Halo 3 Special Edition Xbox 360 for just 150 and GTA IV on PS3 for 25, in certain stores.

MCV reported yesterday that the music, DVD and games retailer had launched what it called ‘the best entertainment sale ever’ – with titles being sold as cheap as 2.
