After launching on iOS on December 15th, Super Mario Run will be trotting onto Android devices this March. Nintendo confirmed the news via Twitter (below) earlier today.
An exact launch date has yet to be announced, but pre-registration is now open on the Google Play Store. Android users can sign up on theSuper Mario Run pageand they’ll then receive an alert when the game is ready to be downloaded.
With its launch window now set for March, this means Nintendo’s Fire Emblem mobile game, entitled Fire Emblem Heroes, will be the first of its big franchise apps outside Miitomo to launch on Android. Nintendo finally unveiled its Fire Emblem mobile game last night during its online Fire Emblem Nintendo Direct presentation.
Super Mario Run was been downloaded 50m times on iOS in just one week, Nintendo revealed just before Christmas. The platform holder had previously stated that the game was downloaded over 40m in its first four days.
However, Nintendo’s sharefell five per cent on the day following the release of Super Mario Run, though in the last few weeks it has started to rise again.
