Super Smash Bros sells 1m in Japan as Wii U release date seemingly leaks

Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros has had a very strong debut in Japan.

The game sold over 1m units in its first week on sale in Japan, spanning both physical and digital sales. It joins Monster Hunter 4 and Pokemon X&Y in the 3DS 1m sales club.

The game’s due out in the UK on October 3rd.

In addition, the signs seems to be very much pointing to a November 21st release for the Wii U version of the game in Europe. Videogamer reports that both ads online and leaked marketing materials for the title carry the date.

In less positive news, Joystiq reports that Nintendo accidentally banned a number of players who had accessed the game’s 3DS demo after a big mistakenly punished them for playing as Princess Peach in the ‘For Glory’ multiplayer mode.
