Teething troubles for MW2 DLC

One of the most anticipated and talked about pieces of DLC, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s Stimulus Pack, is now live – but widespread reports are claiming that it doesn’t actually work.

Quick-off-the-mark users who have already downloaded the content have noted a number of complaints, including faulty multiplayer lobbies, missing images and the inability to start games.

The problem is down to the fact that a title update (a patch that automatically downloads when a game is booted) is needed to access the content. This was supposed to go live before the Stimulus Pack hit Xbox Live, but for some reason did not.

Microsoft’s online voice Larry Hryb said via Twitter: The Stimulus Package needs a title update and it didn’t go out properly. We’re pushing it out now – it won’t be long.”

UPDATE: Hryb has tweeted that the required title update is now live, resolving the afternoon’s problems.
