Test Drive doubles originals launch sales

Test Drive Unlimited 2 has more than doubled the week one sales of the original.

The MMO racer debuted at No.1 this week and is the biggest launch in the Test Drive franchise, which dates back as far as 1987. It is the first ever All Formats No.1 for Namco Bandai since its acquisition of Atari Europe’s distribution business in 2009.

The Xbox 360 version dominated this accomplishment, accounting for 68 per cent of launch sales, with 28 per cent on PS3 and the rest on PC.

Another impressive performance comes from Ubisoft’s Just Dance 2. Despite a 14 per cent crop in sales, the game only slipped one place to No.7 – and has never been outside of the Top 10 since it launched in October last year.
