Thatgamecompany thinking of life "beyond PlayStation"

Cult PlayStation network developer Thatgamecompany has suggested that its next project could be the first to spread beyond the realms of PlayStation.

The confession comes ahead of the release of its latest title, co-op open world game Journey, which hits PS3 next month.

Thatgamecompany had a three game contract with Sony, so the past three games had to be Sony exclusive,” the studio’s co-founder and creative director Jenova Chan told Push Square.

Right now we are very much exploring ways to bring our games to a bigger audience, beyond just PlayStation. We are still in the process of negotiating, but I hope that we can announce it [soon]. But right now it’s still in the process.”

To date the studio has released two games – ambient evolution outing Flow, which was released in 2007, and colourful zen game Flower, which was released in 2009.
