Thatgamecompany to sign new publisher deal this month

A new publishing deal for its next, still secret title should be agreed within the month, indie developer Thatgamecompany has said.

Furthermore, it also expects to announce its fourth game before the end of the year.

It takes us a little bit of time to basically readjust after the three game deal [with Sony],” publisher founder Jenova Chen told VG247. We’re very close in figuring out what the next deal is.

We’re negotiating with various partners, so maybe within the next month, we’ll be able to determine which is the [right deal].”

The identity of the mystery title, which will be the first not to be published by Sony, is still a closely guarded secret.

In terms of when you’ll know about the next game, I think we intentionally announce our games very early,” he added.

We announced Flower half a year after we launched Flow, we announced Journey half a year after we launched Flower. So hopefully within this year, you’ll hear from us about our next game.”

Thatgamecompany has to date released three titles – Flow, Flower and Journey – all of which have been exclusive to PSN.
