There’s an Iron Maiden RPG on the way

Heavy metal pioneers Iron Maiden are releasing a free-to-play mobile RPG this summer.

The title – Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast – is launching for iOS and Android, and is being made by Roadhouse Interactive and 50cc Games.

This isn’t the band’s first foray into video games – in 1999 Iron Maiden released Ed Hunter alongside a greatest hits album of the same name.

Meanwhile, the group’s 2015 single The Speed of Light featured a game-inspired music video in which mascot Eddie travelled through the years through games.

As a lifelong fan, I have always thought that Maiden’s music, lyrics and cast of characters would provide the perfect basis for a deep RPG experience," Roadhouse boss James Hursthouse said.

With this game we’re creating an outstanding RPG that will appeal to all mobile gamers, including those discovering Maiden for the first time.”

Band manager Rod Smallwood added: A game with tons of Maiden history, a load of unheard performances, and a chance to make your own Eddie army thanks to a world class Maiden-mad gaming company – now that’s something I’m very excited about and I’m pretty sure our fans will be too. Thank you Roadhouse.”
