Three themed 3DS XLs confirmed for US

With the New 3DS and New 3DS XL not due in the West until 2015, Nintendo has revealed three themed 3DS XL consoles due out next month in the US.

The star attraction is arguably the NES-styled machine, which while perhaps not as cool as the classic NES Game Boy Advance will undoubtedly tickle the fancy of Nintendo’s older fans.

Also on the way are machines themed on Atlus’ Persona Q and Nintendo’s own Super Smash Bros.

All three are priced at $199.99 and will be exclusive to GameStop.

The NES machine will launch on October 10th, the Persona one on November 25th and the Smash Bros option on September 19th. Note that while the latter includes the game on which it is based the other two come game-free.

To date the Smash Bros version is also the only one confirmed for Europe, where it will arrive on October 3rd.
