Tim Schafer leads new VP line-up for charity Special Effect

Legendary developer Tim Schafer is among the new vice presidents of UK charity Special Effect.

The Double Fine Productions CEO joins MP Tom Watson, the BBC’s Kate Russell, Mastertronic’s Andy Payne, UKIE boss Jo Twist and TIGA boss Richard Wilson in the new line-up.

I am amazed and inspired by the great work that Special Effect does every day,” Schafer said. I have always believed video games have the power not just to entertain, but really reach and connect. Thanks to SpecialEffect, they are able to connect even more people.”

Special Effect CEO Mick Donegan added: "I am honoured and overwhelmed that such as passionate group of people have chosen to actively champion the work of Special Effect. Their support will be pivotal to the success of the Special Effect mission to help more people with physical disabilities benefit from the fun and inclusion of video games"

The charity, which was established in 2007, specialises in helping those with physical disabilities access video gaming. It has previously been praised by Prime Minister David Cameron. It doesn’t charge for the help it offers, so do head over to its donations page.
