TV campaign pushes Art Academy to top

Nintendo’s handheld painting title Art Academy has topped the DS charts for the second successive week.

The game is also at No.6 in the All Formats Top 40, having dropped one place from last week’s No.5, thanks to a widespread TV marketing campaign.

Nintendo’s UK product manager for DS James Honeywell said: We have been really surprised and delighted by the reception that Art Academy has received. It shows that by offering new and exciting subjects on DS, people are willing to try something new. We just try to show the products in their best light and ensure that our customers are aware of it.”

Nintendo had similar success with puzzler Rooms: The Main Building in June, which also topped the DS charts this summer.
