Ubisoft announces Anno 2070; Nintendo dates Steel Diver

The historic nautical RTS series Anno is to get a futuristic makeover courtesy of a new instalment announced today by publisher Ubisoft.

Called Anno 2070, the game sees humanity adapting to a warming world plagued by rising sea levels.

Anno 2070 is a very ambitious game that will feel both familiar and fresh to fans of the series,” EMEA brand director Caroline Stevens, stated.

Due to the game’s futuristic setting, the development team wasn’t restricted by historical boundaries and was able to dream bigger than ever before. It’s a new take on a great franchise that both newcomers and longtime fans will love.”

In addition, Nintendo has also announced a May 6th European release for 3DS title Steel Diver. Also a sea vessel themed game, it takes full use of the handheld’s 3D screen tech.
