Ubisoft signs up to Games Media Awards

Ubisoft has become the latest big name publisher to lend its support to this year’s Games Media Awards.

The publisher will be sponsoring the Mainstream Magazine Games Writer category, one of ten titles up for grabs at the event.

Head of communications Lidia Rumley commented: It’s great to be able to lend our support to the Games Media Awards – there are various awards programmes that celebrate the work of video games publishers and retailers. But as the people who publicly champion games on a daily basis, it’s good to recognise the media’s contribution to our growing industry too.”

The Games Media Awards will take place at the Jongleurs Comedy Club in Camden on the evening of Thursday, October 16th. Finalists will be announced in the next couple of weeks, at which point the voting process – which is open to all MCV readers – will begin. The Gold Sponsors for the event are Microsoft, Nintendo, Activision, Codemasters and Electronic Arts.
