Ubisoft surprises with Watch Dogs unveiling

Ubisoft surprised many with the unveiling of Watch Dogs, a new open-world action-adventure game, at its E3 press conference.

Featuring stunning visuals that led many to believe this was a next-generation game, the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC title puts the player into the shoes of fugitive Aiden Pearce in a world where everything is connected.

Currently in development at Ubisoft Montreal, the game was unveiled via a 10-minute gameplay demo that saw Pearce track down and kill a wrongly acquitted criminal and media mogul. The demo showed a city in striking detail, where Pearce is armed with the ability to hack into any electronic device and access information on anyone around him.

The demo showed third-person gunplay with a cover system and a slow-motion, Bullet time-esque mechanic as well as a brief driving section in an open world environment.

Ubisoft hasn’t announced a release date for Watch Dogs, but you can check out the impressive debut gameplay right here.
