UK WII CHART: Mario and Sonic power on

) its belief that recent Wii release Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games can be a global smash hit for the publisher, and it certainly looks to be gaining momentum by dominating all in this week’s

ChartTrack

Wii Top Ten.

It even beat aside the colossal might of Nintendo’s Super Mario Galaxy to claim the top spot, knocking the highly-rated platformer down to second place. The porky plumber pops up in fourth place, as well, as Mario Party 8 climbs four places to reach fourth spot.

Elsewhere in the Wii listings, Capcom’s Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles debuts in fifth, whilst Ubisoft duo Red Steel and GT Pro Series both make a sudden reappearance in the charts following a High Street promotion, claiming sixth and seventh respectively.
