Uncharted 2 sells 3.5m

It was the critics’ hit of 2009 and now Sony’s Uncharted 2: Among Thieves has cemented its position as a commercial sensation as well.

Naughty Dog’s PS3-exclusive action outing has now sold 3.5m copies worldwide, making it the fastest selling first party title on Sony’s console.

The news comes off the back of a thunderous performance at last week’s AIAS Awards, where the game nabbed ten gongs.

Last evening in Las Vegas, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves took the Interactive Achievement Awards by storm, grabbing ten awards, the most for any one title,” Naught Dog’s VP of product development Scott Rohde said on the PlayStation blog.

Uncharted 2 has also garnered more than 150 other industry awards, has over 1.5m online users worldwide, and has surpassed 3.5m copies sold worldwide – the fastest selling first-party title for PlayStation.

Not to mention, it’s established a new standard for games developed on the PS3 platform.”
