Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception confirmed

The next iteration in the hugely popular Uncharted series has been revealed, confirming recent rumours.

Entertainment Weekly got a first look at Sony’s Naughty Dog-developed adventure Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, which is reportedly due on shelves late next year.

The game is set in the Arabian Peninsula with Drake searching for a legendary lost city, with hints that the storyline will revolve around deceptions both instigated by and against Drake – even raising questions about his identity.

New features will include stereoscopic 3D, a refined combat system, and expanded versions of Uncharted 2’s co-operative and competitive multiplayer – the latter of which will be key to the game’s appeal.

We want to take on the big boys of the multiplayer genre,” Naughty Dog co-president Evan Wells told EW.

While EW managed to get its hands on a teaser, the first full trailer is scheduled to air during the Spike Video Game Awards this Saturday.
