US team Evil Geniuses wins Dota 2 International

Dota 2 tournament the International has concluded with American team Evil Geniuses coming out on top, and all five members becoming millionaires in the process.

Kotakureports the squad is the first American team to win the eSports event, doing so by beating Chinese team CDEC 3-1 in a best-of-five Grand Finals over the weekend.

The total prize pool for Valve’s event this year reached $18m, with Evil Geniuses earning $6.6m and CDEC $2.8m of the pie.

This year’s the International took place again at the KeyArena Center in Seattle, Washington. Here’s the full prize pool breakdown:

1st: Evil Geniuses ($6,616,014)

4th: Vici Gaming ($1,562,114)
