Valve details first of Dota 2 Majors series

Valve has announced the beginning of a series of Majors for Dota 2 to compliment its annual event The International, with the first to be hosted in Frankfurt in November.

According to a post on theDota 2 blog, the event will take place at Festhalle Messe across six days of competition starting on November 16th.

The event is being organised in co-operation with ESL, who held their own Dota 2 tournament in Frankfurt’s CommerzBank Arena in August.

The first five days will be free to attend, while tickets to the finals on November 21stwill cost €50.

16 teams will compete for a prize pool of $3m. A few notable teams will receive invites, while others will be able to compete in qualifying tournaments taking place between October 6thand 9th.
