Valve’s Aaron Nicholls follows Binstock, Abrash to Oculus VR

Oculus has picked up another Valve VR expert in the wake of Facebook’s acquistion of the company, hiring Aaron Nicholls onto its research and development team.

The company announced on Twitter that the former Valve researcher will join Oculus VR as a scientist, working alongside other former Valve veterans – including Michael Abrash and Atman Binstock.

It’s been exciting working on VR at [Valve]; can’t wait to continue working on the future with Atman, Michael, and the [Oculus] crew tomorrow,” Nicholls posted on his personal Twitter account.

The VR firm was acquired by Facebook last month, a move the company states accelerates [Oculus’] vision.”

Valve and Oculus VR are headquartered in the same city of Bellevue, Washington – which, along with the aforementioned $2bn purchase, likely plays a factor in the sudden migration of Valve talent.
