VIDEO: Backers get hands on playable Elite Dangerous code

Supporters of Frontier Development’s Elite Dangerous are now able to get their hands on a playable chunk of the game.

The alpha offers a small taste of what the full game will offer, focusing on the mechanic that sees players redistributing power through three channels – weapons, engines and shields.

Over the coming months new features and content will be made available; we’ll announce further details as we progress through the alpha process,” the studio stated.

If you’re not taking part in the alpha then keep your eyes on your inboxes for the next newsletter which will feature the single player combat build in more detail.”

Elite Dangerous joins crowdfunding powerhouse Star Citizen and indie curiosity No Man’s Sky in the ‘upcoming space games that look really, really good’ category.
