Star Citizen crowdfunding pot reaches $25m

Star Citizen, the galactic space trading game by Wing Commander creator Chris Roberts has now raised $25 million in crowdfunding

In aproject update, Robert’s wrote that the game had reached $24m just last week and has added another million in the week since: This milestone also means that October has been our single biggest month for crowdfunding yet… that’s truly astounding.”

Roberts started crowdfunding for his space trading MMO almost exactly 12 months ago. Having cleared $25 million, Star Citizen has raised $15 million more than the closest games-related crowdfunding project, Ouya – which finished with $8,596,474 on Kickstarter.
