VIDEO: Extended Uncharted 4 trailer arrives online

Sony has released an extended version of the Uncharted 4 trailer that was shown off behind closed doors at E3 last month.

The first half you will have seen before, but this 15-minute segment shows a longer version of the chase sequence, and also includes some additional footage at the end. Be warned, however – there is a spoiler concerning a returning character, so you may want to think twice if you’re sensitive about such things.

In other Uncharted 4 news, GameSpot reports that the game’s campaign mode will run at 30 frames per second. 60fps was targeted, but it would have required too many environmental compromises.

"To me, a locked 30fps is way better than a variable 60fps," co-lead designer Anthony Newman said. "If we wanted to hit a locked 60fps, there’s a lot of optimizations in the environments that would have to happen.

"This would make each level take longer to make. The same amount of geometry would take longer to make because it would have to be so heavily optimized. And so that could end up having story repercussions. ‘We want to have this scene, but we don’t have the time to make the environment.’ It’s a feature, like any other, and you have to consider it against everything else."
