VIDEO: PlayStation Vita Pets arrives today

Nine years on from Nintendogs, Sony has today finally entered the handheld virtual space.

PlayStation Vita Pets, from Liverpool studio Spiral House, will later today be available to download now on PSN for €29.99 (UK price TBC). It will arrive at retail on Friday.

Players can take control of one of four puppies who, unlike Nintendo’s digital canines, must embark upon an adventure of sorts. There’s plenty of interactivity, though, with the game being able to recognise a player’s face and voice thanks to the Vita camera and microphone.

There’s also some augmented reality fun, too, allowing gamers to bring their pets into the real world.
