VIDEO: The Star Wars fighting game that never was

Long-dead developer Studio Gigante was at one stage working on a Street Fighter II style Star Wars game – and you can see the video here.

The video was posted online by Gigante co-founder Josh Tsui, who is currently president of developer Robomodo.

What you’re seeing is described as an "in engine tech demo", depicting a battle between Sith Lord Darth Maul and soon-to-be Sith lord Anakin Skywalker.

Note that bit where Maul strikes Anakin on the back of the head with his lightsaber – and the young Jedi rubs the back of his head as you might were an insect to crawl through your hair.
