Video: Ubisoft officially reveals Watch Dogs 2

Publisher Ubisoft has given us some more details about the sequel to its 2014 hacking action title Watch Dogs.

The rumours are indeed correct about Watch Dogs 2’s San Francisco setting and November 15th release date.

In a video, the team behind the title provided more information about what we can expect from the sequel. Players take on the role of one Marcus Holloway, a man who has been profiled and framed for a crime he did not commit.

Holloway has tricked up hacking abilities compared to Watch Dogs protagonist Aiden Pierce. His magic phone can hack multiple targets at a time, as well as all of the game’s vehicles and most of its electronics.

There are also more crafted items in this game, tying into the 3D printer ‘maker’ culture. This includes guns built with a 3D printer.

Our hero also has more gadgets including an RC car and a quadcopter drone.

Our creative team is working hard to deliver an outstanding Watch Dogs experience,” said Ubisoft Montreal senior producer Dominic Guay said.

In Watch Dogs 2 we’re excited to give players a captivating storyline with engaging characters that offers deeper, more meaningful hacking options, a greater variety of gadgets and weapons, and a brand new seamless multiplayer experience that will appeal to fans of the original Watch Dogs as well as players new to the brand.”

Ubisoft promises more information at E3.
