Virgin teaming up with Sony

Though concrete details of Virgin Gaming’s return to gaming – as exclusively revealed by MCV last month – will not be revealed until E3, it looks as if one major console tie-up is already in place.

Kotaku reports that Canadian copies of Sony’s recently released ModNation Racers points to Virgin Gaming’s website.

Further claims state that Branson’s brand will be running an official tournament for the game in conjunction with Sony and GameStop.

The reports tie in with the recent discovery that Virgin Gaming is to be based on the infrastructure brought about as part of Branson’s rumoured acquisition of skill-gaming firm WorldGaming.com.

A deal with a major platform holder such as Sony will give Virgin’s E3 presence a tremendous boost. If the likes of Microsoft or Nintendo also jump on board then Branson could yet steal the show at what is going to be a very competitive E3.
