Watch Dogs release date announcement near?

It looks as if Ubisoft may be on the cusp of confirming a new release date for Watch Dogs.

Last week NeoGaf spotted a competition that temporarily appeared on the PSN website including an image with the text find out the release date in this new trailer”.

In addition, IGN has word of a new listing for the game on the Sony Entertainment Network site that names its release date as June 30th.

Note, of course, that June 30th is highly improbably – it’s the last day of Q2 and is a Monday. The date screams placeholder, but the appearance of the listing alone does add fuel to the fire.

Watch Dogs was originally pencilled in for a release alongside PS4 and Xbox One last year but was delayed into 2014 just weeks before their arrival.
