White Xbox One raises £5,000 for GamesAid

The rare white Xbox One has been sold for 5,000, GamesAid has announced.

The commemorative special edition machine was only made available to Microsoft employees that worked on the console. It features a special Gamertag and the words ‘I Made This’ written on the front of the machine. It also featured a white Xbox One controller and a black Kinect.

It was donated by an anonymous member of the Xbox team.

By our reckoning, 5,000 is the largest the charity has received from an individual donor.

A GamesAid spokesperson said: An anonymous member of the UK Xbox team wanted to use their Exclusive Launch Team Commemorative Special Edition Xbox One to raise money for a good cause. GamesAid are delighted that the console raised 5000 which will be used to support small UK based children and young person’s charities”

And an Xbox spokesperson added: An anonymous member of the UK Xbox team wanted to use their Exclusive Launch Team Commemorative Special Edition Xbox One to raise money for a good cause. We are delighted that the console is set to raise a substantial amount for GamesAid who will use funds raised to support charities who help disadvantaged and disabled children and young people.”
