Xbox Game Room detailed

Further to its CES reveal of Xbox Live Game Room, a virtual and social games hub, Microsoft has outlined its three-pronged payment strategy for the service.

Once the client has been downloaded users will be able to buy full games for 400 Microsoft Points (3.40). These full-price versions will be playable both on Xbox 360 and PC.

If a user just wants either a PC-only or Xbox 360-only version then that will cost 240 MS Points (2.04).

Alternatively, an arcade-like pay-to-play option will also be available, with credits available for 40 MS Points (34p) a shot. Anyone visiting their friend’s Game Room will be able to try demo versions of their titles for free.

30 games will be available at launch, all of which will display in 1080p and support two player gaming.

Game Room is currently scheduled to launch in the spring.
