Xperia Play coming to O2 in June

O2 has announced it will begin stocking the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play at the start of June.

The PlayStation-certified phone was originally due for release on April 1st, but the mobile phone provider delayed it after discovering a number software bugs. It turns out these will be fully resolved very soon.

In a post on the O2 blog, the head of the company’s testing team Stuart Hibberd wrote: All the bugs we identified in our testing have now either been fixed or are being worked on and we’re confident that they will be fixed shortly.

We’ll be working closely with Sony Ericsson throughout May and if everything goes to plan we’ll be happy to approve the Play and put it on sale, both the black version and our exclusive white version.”

Hibberd added that full pricing details will be published shortly.
