Zushi team returns as Funbox Media

Funbox Media has become the new face of defunct publisher Zushi Games.

The new company was set up by former Zushi employees and is headed up by managing director Barry Hatch.

Funbox will publish a variety of games encompassing a mixture of previous Zushi titles such as Family Gameshow and North American Hunting Extravaganza, as well as new IP from numerous developers.

As with Zushi, the majority of Funbox releases will be for the casual market on Wii and PC, with a number of more traditional titles also on the way, as well as games for DS and PSP.

Funbox will also publish a range of Flight Simulator add-ons under its Fly To brand.

Funbox Media is a new publisher set up by some of the team from Zushi. With a streamlined team our mission is the supply of quality budget priced games for all platforms to retail and offering a route to market solution for the smaller developer who gets overlooked by the bigger publisher,” said Funbox’s sales manager Mark Clemens (pictured).

Funbox has signed Gem as its exclusive distribution partner. The firm will handle all Funbox products in the UK.

We are thrilled to be working with the Funbox Media team, and I am confident that together we can deliver great results for retail,” said Gem’s head of purchasing Tracey Tennison.

Funbox MD Barry Hatch added: Having successfully worked with Gem over many years it was an easy decision to want to partner with them again and to utilise their substantial industry experience
and knowledge.”
