Zynga to close three recently launched titles as it stems losses

CityVille 2, The Friend Game and Party Place are to close despite having only launched in the last quarter.

Three other games that launched in the period – CoasterVille, Bubble Safari Ocean and Ayakashi – are to survive.

The news comes as Zynga reports a net loss of $209.4m for its last financial year, vastly improving on the $404.3m loss reported in the year before. Full-year revenue climbed from $1.15bn to $1.28bn.

Q4 revenues were static but far beyond expectation though, reaching $311m. Losses for the quarter hit $48m – a significant improvement on the $435m loss reported in the same period the year before.
