High-profile Silicon Valley investors back the social games group, reports claim

‘$1.6m investment’ for Facebook studio Lionside

An investment purse of $1,595,000 is in place for the start-up studio Lionside, according to SEC documents.

The studio, which had formed in 2009 under the name Popside, has already captured 308,000 monthly active users (MAU) with its Lionside Football game for Facebook, according to a GamesIndustry.biz report.

Lionside said it is being backed now by "two of Silicon Valley’s most iconic technology investors” – angel investor Ron Conway and Sherpalo Ventures’ Ram Shiram.

The firm is headquartered in San Francisco, with additional offices in London and Indonesia.
