Allegorithmic opens new office in South Korea

Middleware provider Allegorithmic has opened a new office in Seoul, South Korea.

The move marks the start of company subsidiary Allegorithmic Korea, which is designed to establish a presence in the country. Allegorithmic is attempting to extend its business into the Asian markets and enable support in the territory for its ProFX and Substance technology solutions.

"Korean developers are paving the way for the next generation of online games," said Dr. Sebastien Deguy, founder and CEO of Allegorithmic. "Adopting the right technologies is a key success factor for sustainable growth. Both Substance and ProFX are a perfect fit to Korean game developers that need to control the size of their game client and unleash massive user generated content."

"There is obviously a great potential for Allegorithmic’s technology in South Korea as online gaming is by far the biggest market here," added Christian Taewon Kim, general manager of the new subsidiary. "Allegorithmic Korea will allow us to deliver first-class support to all our current and future licensees."

ProFX and Substance are both middleware solutions for the development and distribution of online games, and are designed to dramatically reduce the size of downloadable applications while offering the ability to customise in-game assets.
