Amazon App Store ‘quietly launches in UK’ [Update]

A growing number of online accounts suggest Amazon’s Android Appstore has begun its international roll-out, after the service first launched in the US in March.

[Update 1: Amazon appears to have pulled the service at the time of updaing]

Amazon has yet to officially announce the move but a number of customers claim that the firm’s Android shop is taking orders in Europe and in Australia.

The Amazon App Store has been under fire for what some are branding as draconian control on game prices. The International Game Developers Association has warned studios to think twice before releasing a game on the service.
