Services firm expands into live operations with new Philippines outfit

Ankama Asia is Keywords’ latest acquisition

Keywords Studios has added yet another firm to its services empire with the acquisition of Manila-based Ankama Asia.

The office is currently responsible for providing operations support to Ankama SAS’ titles, including Wakfu and Tactile Wars. However, the acquisition means the live ops team will transfer to Keywords – although a four-year agreement means they will still provide services to Ankama.

Keywords plans to upscale the live ops studio, based in the Philippines, which has a workforce of 23 people. In addition to customer support, the new branch will also expand Keywords’ offering in promotions management, fraud management, QA and bot hunting.

"This mutually beneficial outsourcing arrangement with one of our established clients enables Ankama to benefit from the support of a trusted and efficient partner, while it gives Keywords a platform from which it can grow its presence in Asia with the benefit of the certainty of a four-year contract,” said Keywords CEO Andrew Day.

“The Philippines is a well established territory for the provision of competitively priced support services, and the strong standard of English and high calibre service culture makes Manila an attractive location from which to continue to grow our English language customer and live operations support services offering.”
