Matmi founder speaks out on lack of developer support from iOS giant and Google

Apple’s arrogance is ‘unbelievable’

The founder of mobile and social outfit Matmi Jeff Coghlan has criticised Apple’s attitude towards developers and apparent lack of support for creating games for the App Store.

Speaking at the Develop in Brighton conference, Coghlan said the iOS giant’s arrogance had been “unbelievable”.

He added that although Apple devices were great, the company “was not the easiest to work with”.

Coghlan also criticised Google’s attitude toward developers on Google Play and labelled them a “faceless organisation”, and quipped he had been trying to contact them for two years.

He said that Microsoft however, which has been criticised in some quarters for its Xbox One indie policies, had been great the company and supportive of them.

“For me in this convergent world, Microsoft is in a great place,” he said.

“It’s been a pleasure to work with them. They’ll help you out more than you can imagine. They don’t care if it’s a different platform.”
