Hit Steam game racks up more than one million sales

Ark: Survival Evolved gets UE4 modding tools

Studio Wildcard has partnered with Epic Games to bring Unreal Engine 4 modding support to Ark: Survival Evolved.

The ARK Dev Kit is a simplified UE4 editor designed to streamline the process of creating mods and maps for the dinosaur survival title. The tool does not provide access to the C++ game source code, but features editable source art, maps and Blueprint classes.

Studio Wildcard promises that even without C++, users can still create new items, weapons, AI behaviour trees, structures and extend gameplay classes and game logic. Mods created for the game can be uploaded directly to Steam Workshop for others to download.

Ark: Survival Evolved was released in Early Access on Steam on June 2nd, and has already sold more than one million copies. The title is due to be released on PS4 and Xbox One with Project Morpheus and Oculus Rift VR support in June 2016.
