UK independent studio goes under after almost nine years

Atomic Planet enters administration

Develop understands that Middlesbrough-based independent developer Atomic Planet has gone into administration.

The company announced last month that it was to cut down on staff in an attempt to ride out shortfalls due to project cancellations. At that time, however, the studio said it still had two projects in production.

Atomic Planet had recently released Jenga on DS and Wii, and was set to release Real Madrid: The Game for PlayV.

Develop has contacted the studio for comment.
