Online giant names new director of games operations and head of localisation

Bigpoint hires duo from SCEE and Travian

Bigpoint Games has made two more high-profile hires, bringing former SCEE and Travian execs into the fold.

Vanessa Wood joins Bigpoint’s internationalisation team as head of localisation. She has 16 years of localisation experience at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, where she spent three years as head of the team.

Meanwhile, Stephan Beier leaves his position as production director at Travian Games to become director of games operations at Bigpoint. He will be in charge of community management, customer service, quality assurance and internationalisation.

Bigpoint CEO Khaled Helioui said: "Stephan has had an amazing imapct at Travian and Gameforge and brings a wealth of experience in games operations that is rare in our industry. Vanessa has built a unique expertise in games localisation at Sony and will improve further the quality of the narrative to our international communities.

"Both are passionate about games and have spent their career aspiring to provide the best experience to players. We are blessed to welcome them amongst our ranks and progress further in our path to provide the best games possible."
