Blitz hits 20th birthday

Blitz Games Studios is celebrating 20 years since its formation.

The studio claim to have marked the occasion by signing a major title for 2011 release. Through the in-house 1 UP label, they will also be releasing a series of titles across the remainder of 2010.

Blitz CEO Dr Philip Oliver, having recently contributed to the successful government lobbying for industry tax breaks, said that he was proud of the staff at the studio.

“When we started out 20 years ago we could not have dreamt of having such a talented and dedicated bunch of people working with us to make fantastic games for a worldwide audience,” he added.

Blitz CTO Dr Andrew Oliver said: “We’ve stayed true to the mission statement we set up at the beginning: to create critically and commercially successful games within a stable, friendly and professional environment.
